This session will focus on drawing clouds with pencils and charcoal.

Materials: range of graphite pencils (eg. B, 2B, 4B,6B, 8B), pencil sharpener, vine charcoal, white conte, eraser, soft cloth, sketchbook, pastel paper

This session is inspired by the rock walls in Victoria that are covered in flowers and plants.

Materials: set of 12 pastels, pastel paper, eraser, blending stump, plastic or metal palette knife and cloth (optional: small brush to wipe away eraser debris).

The chestnut trees are in full blossom right now in Victoria. This session will focus on drawing a chestnut tree with charcoal. We will draw the whole tree with a focus on the silhouette shape as well as close-up of the leaves and blossoms.

Materials: vine charcoal, black & white conte, blending stump. cloth, pastel paper

This session will focus on drawing grasses and wildflowers with pen and ink.

Materials: black india ink, bowl-point nib for drawing (see below) and nib holder, sketchbook, paper towel. If you don’t have a nib and nib holder any black pen will suffice.

The start of the summer season will be drawing a landscape with graphite pencils. We will cover a variety of landscape elements including grasses, water, mountains and clouds.

Materials: graphite pencils (B, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B or equivalent), graphite stick (narrow or wide) if you have one, eraser, pencil sharpener, rag, postcard or piece of cardstock (for making a linear edge).
